Neon Genesis Evangelion Episode Guide
Neon Genesis Evangelion consists of 26 episodes which are divided into 13 tapes each lasting an hour. Each episode lasts
about half an hour (A grand total of 13 hours). Okay I'm going one by one and buying each tape so it'll slowly progress through time
until I finally finish the series. Okay here we go!
Episode 1-Angel Attack-Shinji Ikari is introduced, along with the yet untold story of his father and is taken to Nerv H.Q. to pilot the Evangelion
after the first angel attacks Tokyo 3. Misato Katsuragi is also introduced, but not much of her is known yet.
Episode 2-Unfamiliar Ceiling/The Beast-Shinji moves in with Misato and recalls a flashback of his battle with the first Angel. The first signs that
Shinji doesn't want to be there. Misato also displays a bit of sympathy near the end.
Episode 3-The Phone That never Rings-Shinji is going to school now and has yet to make friends. In this episode he gets beat up and makes friends
with the guys that beat him up! Shinji also almost leaves Nerv after his well fought battle with the new Angel. He claims he no longer has what it takes. All works out in the end.
Episode 4-Rain, Escape, and Afterwards-Shinji is nowhere to be found and they don't know what to do. Shinji is eventually found and taken away to be released from Nerv from
his own choice, but he backs off at the last minute realizing that that (Tokyo 3) was his "home." Oh yeah Misato displays more sympathy towards Shinji.
Episode 5-Rei, Beyond her heart-This episode begins by explaining why Rei was so messed up in the first episode. She appears to be closest to Mr. Ikari and this episode
also explains why. In this episode it also appears that Shinji has a little crush on Rei. She (Rei) also becomes capable of operating Eva-00. Oh yeah, a new Angel shows up.
Episode 6-Showdown in Tokyo 3-Just what the title says. This episode contains mostly fighting. At the end an ironic thing happens though, Shinji does exactly the same thing that his
father did to save Rei's life after she risked her life to save Shinji's life.
